Crystalite Bohemia Svetla and Sazavou:

There are records of glass production in the Bohemia region dating back to the end of the 16th century. The glassworks in Svetla and Sazavou began in 1967, when the foundation stone was laid and work began on the construction of a new modern glass manufacturing plant. Production began in 1970 with a range of mostly handmade 24% lead crystal products.

A revolutionary change came in 1975 with the introduction of automatic production of machine-blown stemware.

Another major step forward, allowing the factory to keep pace with other glass manufacturers around the world, came in 1998-2000. This was the start of production on two new smelting aggregates for making large presses with unique product specifications up to 43 cm in size and weighing up to 6 kg.

Crystalite Bohemia currently operates 5 smelting aggregates with a daily smelting capacity of 96 tons, producing ecologically clean, lead-free molten glass known as crystallite. The factory is producing annually approximately 17 million pieces of machine-blown stemware and 5.5 million of gift items. These products are exported to 52 destinations all over the world. The Company currently employs approximately 700 people and generates a turnover of approximately EUR 40 million per year.
